Different Resellers, Dropshippers, and Brokers

Looking for money to become a reseller or dropshipper, it is in great demand in today's digitalization era, how not, with the main capital of mobile phones can already sell, can be independent, can build a business.

But, there is a but, if it's just selling, the important thing is selling, regardless of the contract, without caring about the business mechanism, what is there is not even a blessing, it's a pity, the intentions of wanting a blessing business, even become hot.

In addition to resellers and dropshippers, there is also such a thing as a realtor, one of the professions that has existed from ancient times, even becoming the main profession in earning income.

What now wants to be discussed, what contract is used to become a reseller, dropshipper and realtor:

Akad/Contract and its Mechanism

#1 Resellers

The mechanism: the seller gives permission to the reseller to sell a product at a certain price and profit, then the reseller offers to prospective buyers, if anyone wants to buy, then the reseller must buy the product first from the seller, then transact with the buyer (can be with COD). From this mechanism, it seems that there is nothing wrong with resellers, the contract used is an ordinary buying and selling contract, the advantage of being a reseller is that there is no need to have a lot of stock of goods.

What about dropshippers?

#2 Dropshippers

The mechanism: with photos and information in the marketplace, the dropshipper immediately sells a product to potential buyers, if someone buys, the dropshipper then buys from the seller, then the seller directly sends the product to the buyer (there is COD too), well some things that make the dropshipper incorrect are:

Basically, sellers and dropshippers do not know each other, hence the consequences:

  • The dropshipper does not get permission to sell the product from the seller.

  • The availability of goods is not clearly known by the dropshipper

  • The physical goods shipped are unknown to the dropshipper

As a result, if it turns out that the product is not available, or the goods sent turn out to be defective in production or not in accordance with the order, who will bear the complaint?, of course this has the potential to cause disputes, because the dropshipper mechanism is not like a reseller, where the product or goods are already owned first, either by getting permission from the seller, or by buying first.

"... Do not sell things that you do not already have" (Narrated by Abu David)

#3 Brokers

The broker has been known for a long time, the contract used is the samsarah contract. Brokers are different from resellers who have to buy their goods first, but also different from dropshippers who do not get permission from the seller.

The broker has obtained permission from the seller, without having to buy the goods, or it can be reversed, the broker gets a task from the buyer to find the goods. What needs to be considered from the broker is that the fee received by the broker can only be from one party, cannot get a fee at once, from the seller and from the buyer.

The fee received by the broker can be agreed in the form of a percentage, or nominal form.

Closing

In addition to resellers, dropshippers and brokers, there is also a wakalah contract, precisely wakalah bil ujroh, which is to be a representative of the seller to sell goods by receiving a fee, this contract is essentially ijarah, the existence of a service by receiving rewards. In closing, continue to learn and continue to do business to get the blessings and pleasure of Allah Azza wa Jalla, through Muamalah Maliyah.
