Sharia Banks - The Market Is Cranky, Stocks Dropped

It is widely discussed that Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) customer data was compromised, after previously experiencing system disturbances, the bank with the BRIS stock code experienced a sharp decline in share value as of today May 16 2023 by -6.98% to Rp. 1600, - / share, from the opening share value of Rp. 1,720,- / share.

The BSI stated that the customer data was safe, but the market seemed to have gotten carried away, the market immediately reacted sulkily, then the share value immediately plummeted. Market power in the economy is indeed not playing games, just a little bit of bad news, then the perception of the market will also be bad.

Today's economy, like it or not, is heavily influenced by the market, be it currency, banking, company stocks or government bonds, everything depends on the market, so even bad news that is a hoax can influence market perception.

In Muamalah itself, the market does influence prices, the higher the market demand, the higher the price, while the higher the supply, the lower the price.

In a hadith, the Prophet refused to set prices when prices increased.

However, what is noteworthy is that the law of demand and supply occurs in real goods, occurs naturally, with a correct economic basis. The medium of money used is gold and silver, Muamalah law works well, there is a prohibition on usury, gharar, maysir and dzalim.

Today world trade is more dominated by the non-real sector, even riba gharar, maysir, is still legalized, even though it causes economic instability, it gets worse because the economic foundation used is the free market, which in fact only a small portion controls the market, complete with economic instability will be experienced.

Therefore implementing Muamalah Maliyah in a caffah manner is a must, because not only individuals, companies, or governments will feel its justice and stability, but the whole world community will feel it.
